KATHERINE E. RAMSEY assists clients with their estate planning and administration needs, including charitable planning and other sophisticated gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax techniques of interest to high net worth individuals and families. Her experience also includes advising corporate and individual fiduciaries in the proper administration of trusts and estates and providing subject matter expertise to other attorneys in fiduciary litigation and will contests.

Katherine began her legal career at Mezzullo & McCandlish LLP and Mezzullo & Guare, PLC. She joined Hunton & Williams LLP in 2004, where she practiced for 12 years before joining Virginia Estate & Trust Law.

As Past Chair of the Virginia Bar Association’s Section on Wills, Trusts and Estates and a currently active member of its Legislative Committee, Katherine has appeared many times before the Virginia General Assembly. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC), and has been recognized by her peers through her inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Virginia Business magazine’s Legal Elite (Taxes, Estates and Trusts) and Virginia Super Lawyers. She is a current member of the Richmond Estate Planning Council and the Richmond Trust Administrators’ Council, and has served in the past as a director of the Virginia Gift Planning Council.

Katherine lectures frequently on a variety of trust and estate topics at continuing legal education seminars and has co-authored the Annual Survey of Wills, Trusts and Estates legal developments for the University of Richmond Law Review since 2011. She also volunteers with the Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC) and the "Wills for Heroes" program.
